Now I am hiding from the ensuing onslaught. Have a picture of Top Gear and their love of heavy machines.

I would think so but maybe not. That is not something I can know.

I am more concerned about the integrity of the data collected, and the fact that the TSA will now just focus on us people who don't often travel but still pose little risk.

Maybe if I learned more about how Nexus works, I would be less circumspect.

However my experiences with TSA in the past prevent me from having great faith.

Lol it's true. I can haz edits.

Well, in my opinion here in Canada the experience with "government databases" is not very great. The gun registry was a complete and abject failure that cost tax payers a fortune, and didn't stop mass killings. HRSDC just recently lost students personal loan data, some of which have now been subject to identity theft, the government of British Columbia was trying to offload beta tapes (or something similar) and sold tons of people personal information to some guy for $50. I guess I just don't believe that government is a safe steward of this data. Although mind you they do have our tax data, so I guess they usually keep that rather well, but I worry about either the data being hacked, or like the IRS scandal in regards to certain groups being sorted for extra scrutiny based on their (non terrorist) political beliefs.

Maybe I am paranoid, I don't know. What do you think?

I think emigrating out of the Kingdom would be a good start.

I feel as though you think I have made an idiot of myself although I don't really get why.

I guess I just have low "confidence" in government managed databases, although clearly some are better than others.
